अतः परमेश्वर ने मुँह मोड़कर उन्हें छोड़ दिया , कि आकाशगण पूजें, जैसा भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की पुस्तक में लिखा है, ‘हे इस्राएल के घराने, क्या तुम जंगल में चालीस वर्ष तक पशुबलि और अन्नबलि मुझ ही को चढ़ाते रहे? (यिर्म. 7:18, यिर्म. 8:2, यिर्म. 19:13)
