సైప్రస్ దీవికి చెందిన యోసేపు అనే ఒక లేవీయునికి అపొస్తలులు ‘బర్నబా’ అనే పేరు పెట్టారు. ఆ పేరుకు అర్థం ‘ఆదరణ పుత్రుడు.’
