ต่อมาครั้นล่วงไปสามวันแล้ว เปาโลจึงเชิญพวกผู้​ใหญ่​ในพวกยิวมาประชุมกัน เมื่อมาพร้อมหน้ากันแล้​วท​่านจึงกล่าวแก่เขาว่า “ท่านพี่น้องทั้งหลาย ​ถึงแม้​ว่าข้าพเจ้ามิ​ได้​กระทำผิดสิ่งหนึ่งสิ่งใดต่อชนชาติ หรือผิดธรรมเนียมของบรรพบุรุษ ข้าพเจ้ายังต้องถูกมอบเป็นนักโทษมาจากกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม เป็นนักโทษให้​อยู่​ในมือของพวกโรม

And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
