Daar ontmoette hij een Joodse man die Aquila heette en uit Pontus afkomstig was. Hij was onlangs met zijn vrouw Priscilla uit Italië aangekomen, omdat Claudius had bevolen dat alle Joodse mensen uit Rome moesten vertrekken. Paulus ging bij hen op bezoek,

And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.
