అప్పుడు అబ్నేరు “నేను వెళ్లి ఇశ్రాయేలు వారినందరినీ నా రాజు అయిన నీ సమక్షంలో సమకూర్చి, వారు నీతో ఒప్పందం చేసేలా, నీ చిత్త ప్రకారంగా నువ్వు రాజ్యాధికారం చేపట్టి నువ్వు కోరుకున్నదాని అంతటినీ పాలించేలా చేస్తాను” అని దావీదుతో చెప్పి అతని దగ్గర అనుమతి తీసుకుని శాంతికరంగా వెళ్లిపోయాడు.

And Abner said unto David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel unto my lord the king, that they may make a league with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thine heart desireth. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.
