แต่โยอาบกราบทูลกษัตริย์ว่า “ขอพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของพระองค์ทรงให้มีประชาชนเพิ่มขึ้นอีกร้อยเท่าของที่มีอยู่ ขอกษัตริย์เจ้านายของข้าพระองค์ทรงทอดพระเนตรเห็น แต่ไฉนกษัตริย์เจ้านายของข้าพระองค์จึงพอพระทัยในเรื่องนี้”
