​แต่​​กษัตริย์​ตรัสกับอาราวนาห์​ว่า​ “​หามิได้​ ​แต่​เราจะขอเสียเงินซื้อจากท่าน เราจะถวายเครื่องเผาบูชาแด่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเราโดยที่เราไม่เสียค่าอะไรเลยนั้นไม่​ได้​” ​ดาว​ิดจึงทรงซื้อลานนวดข้าวกับวัวเป็นเงินห้าสิบเชเขล
