అప్పుడు యోవాబు యుద్ధం చేయగల వారి మొత్తం లెక్క రాజుకు తెలియపరిచాడు. ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిలో కత్తి దూయగల 8 లక్షలమంది యోధులు ఉన్నారు. యూదావారిలో 5 లక్షలమంది ఉన్నారు.

And Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.
