ജനത്തെ ബാധിക്കുന്ന ദൂതനെ ദാവീദ് കണ്ടിട്ടു യഹോവയോടു: ഞാനല്ലോ പാപം ചെയ്തതു; ഞാനല്ലോ കുറ്റം ചെയ്തതു; ഈ ആടുകൾ എന്തു ചെയ്തു? നിന്റെ കൈ എനിക്കും എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്നും വിരോധമായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

And David spake unto the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father’s house.
