എന്നാൽ ദാവീദ് ജനത്തെ എണ്ണിയശേഷം തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ കുത്തുകൊണ്ടിട്ടു യഹോവയോടു: ഞാൻ ഈ ചെയ്തതു മഹാപാപം; എന്നാൽ യഹോവേ, അടിയന്റെ കുറ്റം ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ; ഞാൻ വലിയ ഭോഷത്വം ചെയ്തുപോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
