En Amasa was niet op zijn hoede voor het zwaard dat in Joabs hand was; deze stak hem daarmee in het onderlijf, zodat zijn ingewanden ter aarde stortten. Hij behoefde het geen tweede maal te doen, want hij stierf. – Joab nu en zijn broeder Abisai zetten de achtervolging van Seba, de zoon van Bikri, voort. –

But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab’s hand: so he smote him therewith in the fifth rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.
