ત્રીજે દિવસે, છાવણીમાંથી એક માણસ શાઉલ પાસેથી આવ્યો તેનાં વસ્ત્રો ફાટેલાં હતાં, માથા પર ધૂળ હતી. તે દાઉદ પાસે આવ્યો. તેણે દાઉદને સાષ્ટાંગ દંડવત પ્રણામ કર્યા.

It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance.
