అతడు వెళ్లి యూదా వారిలో ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ ఇష్టపూర్వకంగా రాజుకు లోబడేలా చేశాడు. యూదావారు రాజు దగ్గరికి “నువ్వు, నీ సేవకులంతా తిరిగి రావాలి” అన్న కబురు పంపించారు. రాజు బయలుదేరి యొర్దాను నది దగ్గరికి వచ్చినప్పుడు

And he bowed the heart of all the men of Judah, even as the heart of one man; so that they sent this word unto the king, Return thou, and all thy servants.
