అబ్షాలోము కంచరగాడిద ఎక్కి వస్తూ దావీదు సేవకులకు ఎదురు పడ్డాడు. ఆ కంచరగాడిద ఒక బాగా గుబురుగా ఉన్న పెద్ద సింధూర వృక్షం కొమ్మల కిందనుండి వెళ్తున్నప్పుడు అబ్షాలోము తల చెట్టుకు తగులుకుంది. అతడు పైకి ఎత్తబడి ఆకాశానికి భూమికి మధ్యలో వేలాడుతున్నాడు. అతని కింద ఉన్న కంచర గాడిద ముందుకు వెళ్ళిపోయింది.

¶ And Absalom met the servants of David. And Absalom rode upon a mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went away.
