પણ દાઉદના ભાઈ, શિમઆના પુત્ર, યોનાદાબે દાઉદને કહ્યું, “મારા માલિક એવું માની લેવાની જરૂર નથી. આબ્શાલોમે રાજાના સર્વ જુવાન દીકરાઓને મારી નાખ્યા છે, તમામને નહિ ફક્ત આમ્નોનને જ મારી નાખવામાં આવ્યો છે. જે દિવસે આમ્નોને તેની બહેન તામાર ઉપર બળાત્કાર કર્યો, ત્યારથી આબ્શાલોમે આ તરકટ રચ્યું હતું.
