​แต่​เมื่อดาวิดทอดพระเนตรเห็นข้าราชการกระซิบกระซาบกันอยู่ ​ดาว​ิดเข้าพระทัยว่าพระกุมารนั้นสิ้นพระชนม์​แล้ว​ ​ดาว​ิดจึงรับสั่งถามข้าราชการของพระองค์​ว่า​ “เด็กนั้นสิ้นชีวิตแล้วหรือ” เขาทูลตอบว่า “​สิ​้นชีวิตแล้วพ่ะย่ะค่ะ”

But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.
