2. ശമൂവേൽ 12:22

അതിന്നു അവൻ: കുഞ്ഞു ജീവനോടിരുന്ന സമയം ഞാൻ ഉപവസിച്ചു കരഞ്ഞു; കുഞ്ഞു ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദൈവം എന്നോടു ദയ ചെയ്യുമോ ഇല്ലയോ? ആർക്കു അറിയാം എന്നു ഞാൻ വിചാരിച്ചു.

And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?
