દાઉદે તેની પત્ની બાથશેબાને દિલાસો આપ્યો, તેની પાસે જઈને તેની સાથે શારીરિક સંબંધ બાંધ્યો. બાથશેબાએ દીકરાને જન્મ આપ્યો. અને તેનું નામ તેણે સુલેમાન રાખ્યું. ઈશ્વર તેના પર ખૂબ પ્રેમાળ હતા.

¶ And David comforted Bath-sheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.
