అప్పుడు దావీదు “నువ్వు యోవాబుతో ఈ మాట చెప్పు. ‘జరిగినదాన్ని బట్టి నువ్వు బాధపడవద్దు. కత్తి ఒకసారి ఒకరిని, మరోసారి మరొకరిని చంపుతుంది. పట్టణం మీద యుద్ధం మరింత తీవ్రతరం చేసి దాన్ని ఓడించు’ అని యోవాబుకు ధైర్యం చెప్పు” అని ఆ సైనికునికి చెప్పి పంపించాడు.

Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him.
