தாவீது அவனைத் தனக்கு முன்பாக சாப்பிட்டுக் குடிக்கிறதற்கு அழைத்து, அவனுக்கு போதை உண்டாக்கினான்; ஆனாலும் அவன் தன்னுடைய வீட்டிற்குப் போகாமல், மாலையில் தன்னுடைய ஆண்டவனின் வீரர்களோடு தன்னுடைய படுக்கையிலே படுத்துக்கொண்டான்.

And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.
