ഒരുനാൾ സന്ധ്യയാകാറായ സമയത്തു ദാവീദ് മെത്തയിൽനിന്നു എഴുന്നേറ്റു രാജധാനിയുടെ മാളികമേൽ ഉലാവിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരു സ്ത്രീ കുളിക്കുന്നതു മാളികയിൽനിന്നു കണ്ടു; ആ സ്ത്രീ അതിസുന്ദരി ആയിരുന്നു.

¶ And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
