కానీ యెహోవా తన సేవకుడైన దావీదును జ్ఞాపకం చేసుకున్నాడు కనుక యూదా రాజ్యాన్ని నాశనం చేయడానికి ఇష్టపడలేదు. దావీదు వారసులు యూదా రాజ్యాన్ని ఎన్నటికీ పరిపాలిస్తారని దేవుడు దావీదుకి ప్రమాణం చేశాడు.

Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah for David his servant’s sake, as he promised him to give him alway a light, and to his children.
