ஆண்டவர் சீரியர்களின் இராணுவத்திற்கு இரதங்களின் இரைச்சலையும், குதிரைகளின் இரைச்சலையும், மகா இராணுவத்தின் இரைச்சலையும் கேட்கச் செய்ததால், அவர்கள் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் நோக்கி: இதோ, நமக்கு எதிராகப் போருக்குவர, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா ஏத்தியரின் ராஜாக்களையும் எகிப்தியரின் ராஜாக்களையும் கூலிக்கு அமர்த்தினான் என்று சொல்லி,

For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
