ఆ తరువాత ఎలీషా “యెహోవా, వీడు చూడాలి. అందుకోసం దయచేసి వీడి కళ్ళు తెరువు” అని ప్రార్థన చేశాడు. అప్పుడు యెహోవా ఆ పనివాడి కళ్ళు తెరిచాడు. వాడు ఆ పర్వతమంతా అగ్ని జ్వాలల్లాంటి గుర్రాలూ, రథాలూ ఎలీషా చుట్టూ ఉండటం చూశాడు.

And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
