அதனால் சமாரியாவிலே கொடிய பஞ்சம் ஏற்பட்டது; ஒரு கழுதையின் தலை எண்பது வெள்ளிக்காசுக்கும், புறாக்களுக்குப் போடுகிற காற்படி பயறு ஐந்து வெள்ளிக்காசுக்கும் விற்கப்படும்வரை அதை முற்றுகையிட்டார்கள்.

And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass’s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver.
