అప్పుడు ఏలీయా “నీవు దయచేసి ఇక్కడే నిలిచిపో. నన్ను యెరికోకి వెళ్ళమని యెహోవా చెప్పాడు” అని ఎలీషాతో అన్నాడు. దానికి ఎలీషా “యెహోవా ప్రాణం మీదా నీ ప్రాణం మీదా ఒట్టేసి చెబుతున్నాను, నేను నిన్ను విడిచి పెట్టను” అని జవాబిచ్చాడు. కాబట్టి వాళ్ళిద్దరూ యెరికోకి వెళ్ళారు.

And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
