ఎలీషా అది చూసి “నా తండ్రీ, నా తండ్రీ, ఇశ్రాయేలుకి రథాలూ, వాళ్ళ రౌతులు నువ్వే” అని కేక పెట్టాడు. ఆ తరువాత ఏలీయా అతనికి మళ్ళీ కనిపించలేదు. అప్పుడు ఎలీషా తాను కట్టుకున్న వస్త్రం తీసుకుని దాన్ని రెండు ముక్కలుగా చేశాడు.

¶ And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
