பின்பு எலியா அவனை நோக்கி: எலிசாவே, நீ இங்கே இரு; யெகோவா என்னை எரிகோவரை போக அனுப்புகிறார் என்றான். அதற்கு அவன்: நான் உம்மை விடுவதில்லை என்று யெகோவாவுடைய ஜீவனையும் உம்முடைய ஜீவனையும் கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றான்; அப்படியே அவர்கள் எரிகோவுக்கு வந்தார்கள்.

And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
