Och Elia sa till honom: ”Elisha, stanna här, jag ber dig, för Herren (Jahveh) har sänt mig till Jeriko.” Men han svarade: ”Herren (Jahveh) lever och din själ lever, jag ska inte lämna dig.” Så vandrade de [tillsammans] ner till Jeriko.

And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
