Och han placerade den snidade aseran [påle för avgudadyrkan] som han hade gjort i huset om vilket Herren (Jahveh) sagt till David och till Salomo, hans son: ”I detta hus och i Jerusalem som jag har utvalt bland alla Israels stammar, ska jag placera mitt namn för evigt,

And he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which the LORD said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
