Ginawa niya ito dahil hindi nila sinunod ang tinig ni Yahweh na kanilang Diyos, pero nilabag ang kaniyang tipan, lahat ng inutos ni Moises ang lingkod ni Yahweh. Tinanggihan nilang makinig dito o gawin ito.
