તે રાજ કરવા લાગ્યો ત્યારે તે પચીસ વર્ષનો હતો, તેણે યરુશાલેમમાં ઓગણત્રીસ વર્ષ સુધી રાજ કર્યુ. તેની માતાનું નામ અબિયા હતું અને તે ઝખાર્યાની દીકરી હતી.
