Och de förkastade hans förordningar (ordagrant ”saker inristat”) och hans förbund som han hade skurit med deras fäder, och hans stadgar (vittnesbörd) varmed han hade vittnat mot dem. Och de gick efter tomma ting och blev till intet, och efter folkslagen som var runt omkring dem, om vilka Herren (Jahveh) hade bestämt att de inte skulle göra som (likna) dem.

And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
