પણ આશ્શૂરના રાજાને પોતાની વિરુદ્ધ હોશિયાનું ષડયંત્ર સમજાયું, કેમ કે, તેણે મિસરના સો નામના રાજાની પાસે સંદેશાવાહકો મોકલ્યા હતા. દર વર્ષની જેમ હોશિયાએ આશ્શૂરના રાજાને ખંડણી ભરી ન હતી. તેથી આશ્શૂરના રાજાએ તેને કેદ કરીને બંદીખાનામાં નાખ્યો.
