Och Menachem, Gadis son, gick upp från Tirtsah [nordost om Shechem; nuvarande Tell el-Farah] och kom till [staden] Samarien och slog Shallum, Javeshs son, i Samarien och dödade honom. Och han regerade i hans ställe.

For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
