जब यरूशलेम में उसके विरुद्ध राजद्रोह की गोष्ठी की गई, तब वह लाकीश को भाग गया। अतः उन्होंने लाकीश तक उसका पीछा करके उसको वहाँ मार डाला।

Now they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem: and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.
