Ev halkından sorumlu olan, kentten sorumlu olan, ihtiyarlar ve çocukları büyütenler, Yehu'ya haber gönderip, “Biz senin hizmetkârlarınız, istediğin her şeyi yapacağız. Hiç kimseyi kral yapmayacağız. Sen gözünde iyi olanı yap.” dediler.
