II CRONICHE 6:16

Ora dunque, o Signore Iddio d'Israele, osserva al tuo servitore Davide, mio padre, ciò che tu gli hai promesso, dicendo: Ei non ti verrà giammai meno, nel mio cospetto, uomo che segga sopra il trono d'Israele; purchè i tuoi figliuoli prendano guardia alla via loro, per camminar nella mia Legge, come tu sei camminato nel mio cospetto.

Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.
