Dopo questo, Sennacherib, re degli Assiri, essendo sopra Lachis con tutte le forze del suo imperio, mandò i suoi servitori in Gerusalemme ad Ezechia, re di Giuda, ed a tutti i Giudei ch'erano in Gerusalemme per dir loro:
