De ijlboden nu gingen met de brieven van de koning en zijn oversten door geheel Israël en Juda, en zeiden overeenkomstig het gebod des konings: Israëlieten, keert weder tot de Here, de God van Abraham, Isaak en Israël, dan zal Hij wederkeren tot de ontkomenen, die u overgebleven zijn uit de macht van de koningen van Assur.
