ஆனாலும் ஆசாரியர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை குறைவாக இருந்ததால் அவர்களால் அந்த சர்வாங்க தகனமான ஜீவன்களையெல்லாம் அடித்துத் தோலுரிக்க முடியாமலிருந்தது; அதனால் அந்த வேலை முடியும்வரைக்கும், மற்ற ஆசாரியர்கள் தங்களைப் பரிசுத்தம்செய்யும்வரைக்கும், அவர்களுடைய சகோதரர்களாகிய லேவியர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்தார்கள்; தங்களைப் பரிசுத்தம் செய்துகொள்ள லேவியர்கள் ஆசாரியர்களைவிட மன உற்சாகமுள்ளவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்.

But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.
