Sapagkat nag-alay siya sa mga diyos ng Damasco, mga diyos na tumalo sa kaniya. Sinabi niya, “Dahil tinulungan sila ng mga diyos ng mga hari ng Syria, mag-aalay ako sa kanila, upang matulungan nila ako.” Ngunit sila ang sumira sa kaniya at sa buong Israel.
