તેણે અરણ્યમાં બુરજો બાંધ્યાં અને ઘણાં કૂવા ખોદાવ્યા, કારણ કે તેની પાસે નીચાણના પ્રદેશમાં તેમ જ મેદાનમાં ઘણાં જાનવર હતાં. તેણે દ્રાક્ષવાડીઓ ઉગાડનાર ફળદ્રુપ ભૂમિમાં તથા પર્વતોમાં કામ કરનાર ખેડૂતો રાખ્યા હતા, કેમ કે તેને ખેતીવાડીનો શોખ હતો.

Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry.
