Ngayon, mula sa panahon na tumalikod si Amazias sa pagsunod kay Yahweh, sinimulan nilang gumawa ng sabuwatan laban sa kaniya sa Jerusalem. Tumakas siya patungong Laquis, ngunit nagpadala sila ng mga tao na susunod sa kaniya sa Laquis at pinatay siya doon.
