હવે અમાસ્યા ઈશ્વરનું અનુકરણ ન કરતાં અલગ માર્ગ તરફ વળ્યો, તે સમયથી યરુશાલેમમાં લોકોએ તેની વિરુદ્ધમાં બંડ કર્યુ. તેથી તે લાખીશ નાસી ગયો, પણ લાખીશ સુધી તેનો પીછો કરવામાં આવ્યો અને ત્યાં તેને મારી નાખવામાં આવ્યો.

¶ Now after the time that Amaziah did turn away from following the LORD they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish: but they sent to Lachish after him, and slew him there.
