Araméernas här kom med endast en liten skara, men Herren (Jahveh) gav ändå en mycket stor här i deras hand därför att folket hade övergett Herren (Jahveh), sina fäders Gud (Elohim). Så fick araméerna utföra straffdomen över Joash.
