II CRONICHE 21:7

Nondimeno il Signore non volle distruggere la casa di Davide, per amor del patto ch'egli avea fatto con Davide; e secondo ch'egli avea detto, che darebbe a lui ed a' suoi figliuoli, in perpetuo, una lampana accesa.

Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.
