วันนั้นการรบก็ดุเดือดขึ้น และกษัตริย์อิสราเอลก็พยุงพระองค์เองขึ้นไปในรถรบของพระองค์หันพระพักตร์เข้าสู้ชนซีเรียจนถึงเวลาเย็น แล้วประมาณเวลาดวงอาทิตย์ตกพระองค์ก็สิ้นพระชนม์
