I TESSALONICESI 2:2

Anzi, benchè prima avessimo, come sapete, patito, e fossimo stati ingiuriati in Filippi, pur ci siamo francamente inanimati nell'Iddio nostro, da annunziarvi l'evangelo di Dio, con molto combattimento.

But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.
