1. ശമൂവേൽ 9:7

ശൗൽ തന്റെ ഭൃത്യനോടു: നാം പോകുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ആ പുരുഷന്നു എന്താകുന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണ്ടതു? നമ്മുടെ ഭാണ്ഡത്തിലെ അപ്പം തീർന്നുപോയല്ലോ; ദൈവപുരുഷന്നു കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലുവാൻ ഒരു സമ്മാനവും ഇല്ലല്ലോ; നമുക്കു എന്തുള്ളു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we?
